Let me help you with that

I didn’t really have any specific goal in mind when I started this thing. But as I do more research and see templates/tools that people have made (and sell), and I seek out examples of good blogs that people run and maintain, I become more reflective and considerate. I probably have spent more time with this thing, just changing colors and widgets, experimenting with options I don’t fully understand, breaking things with themes that always end up being more restrictive than I would like. “But if I just upgrade to Pro…”

The most important thing is that I just use the damn thing. Content, is what my focus should be. I have several ideas for this blog that are going to take a little time to flesh out. But the most motivating force for me to start working on this site itself is called out in the tagline. I haven’t used Social Media for several years now. I deleted my Facebook and Instagram account, and rarely log into Reddit or Twitter. YouTube and SoundCloud have seen some light action, but nothing substantial.

The rub here might be that I was never really very active on Social Media when I did have it. So how can I really expect this to be all that much different. Ultimately, I just want to write more. And in order for me to do that, I have to get over this artificial rule that I’ve made for myself that the things I put out have to be super-polished and of a high quality. That will happen, eventually. I have to just let this grow and evolve into that. And to help create an environment for that to happen, I gotta make content the priority.

So, in the interest of adding in a status update of sorts, I finished out my week by working out of the office for two days. I’ve only worked out of an office for six days in the last… almost three years now. There are some positives for going in, especially when you are part of a good team. But I really have zero interest in ever returning to that commute. It would probably be somewhat good for me, in the sense of having a more formal morning routine. But I think it just costs me too much.

Michelle and I had a weekend that was just chock-full of family and teamwork. We went down to Albany to pick up Jade and had lunch at a spot we like. Then came back here and had a nice dinner with the family. Saturday night as a whole, was just wonderful. Today was just kind of our normal routine. I got up late and then we went to the store and prepped for the week. Sounds exciting, huh? Well, it’s my life and it’s everything to me.
